Michael Mellgren, Realtor

As a Southern California native, Michael understands firsthand what a privilege it is to live and work in the most dynamic, beautiful, and prosperous state in the nation—California. That’s why Michael has made it his career mission to help any and all achieve their California real estate dreams in a manner specifically tailored to their individual goals and aspirations.

Raised in Yorba Linda, Michael has an intimate familiarity with the local community as he attended Travis Ranch and Esperanza High School where he was actively involved in both tennis and basketball. Later he attended the University of California, Riverside where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and minor in Business Administration.

After college, Michael worked in management at the local Yorba Linda Costco prior to attending Loyola Law School, Los Angeles where he earned his J.D. with graduation distinctions in negotiations and commercial law. Michael then passed the California bar exam and worked as a civil litigation attorney at two prominent Southern California law firms where he further honed his negotiation and advocacy skills for the benefit of his clients.

Fulfilled but not professionally satisfied, Michael decided that his skills would be most meaningfully effective in the world of real estate which then led him to become an agent with ERA North Orange County Real Estate in Yorba Linda. Now he has the pleasure of bringing his legal and management acumen to work in helping his clients buy and sell California real estate.

Michael is married to his lovely wife Victoria in which they share three beautiful children: Eva, Noah, and Ezra. When he is not delivering for his clients, he and his family regularly attend church at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills. Michael hopes that one day his prayers are answered so that one of his children comes to love tennis as much as he does!

By Michael Mellgren | July 15, 2026

Quick Answer Inheriting a home with a reverse mortgage starts a federal clock, not a probate one. The loan becomes due and payable when the last borrower dies. Once the servicer mails the due and payable notice, the estate gets 30 days. Pay, sell, or hand back the home. Nobody owes more than the house […]

Selling an Inherited Home in California: What Heirs Need to Know

By Michael Mellgren | July 15, 2026

Quick Answer Selling an inherited home in California starts with one question: how the title transfers. A successor trustee can list a home held in a living trust within weeks. Placentia Mello-Roos: The Three Special-Tax Districts and How to Check Your Address

By Michael Mellgren | July 14, 2026

Quick Answer Placentia Mello-Roos comes from just three city-run special-tax districts. Because of that, most homes in Placentia pay no Mello-Roos at all. One district funds public-safety services. The other two maintain public streets, one in the transit-oriented downtown and one in Old Town. All three attach to specific newer parcels, not the whole city, […]
